The viral contest asked applicants to give up their social media account information and live stream their experience.
A Minnesotan woman won the contest paying $1,000 to watch Hallmark movies. The company behind the sweepstakes said 218,000 people applied. Hallmark was not behind this promotion.
Jasmine Stringer said she still can’t believe she beat out the other applicants.
“This is surreal,” she said. “I still don’t know how they picked us.”
Stringer, a lifestyle coach and author of Seize Your Life, said this is her dream job. She and her friend, Sharon Gifford, will watch 24 movies in 12 days.
They’ve already watched two. Stringer said last year she hosted an adult slumber party centered around watching Hallmark Christmas movies. She and her girlfriends wore their jammies and watched their favorite holiday movies.
The sweepstakes, which was viral, was sponsored by "Internet Service Partners: Authorized Century Link Sales Agent."
Applicants were asked to give up their social media account information, live stream their experience if they win and answer some essay questions about Christmas movies. Stringer wouldn’t tell us her favorite movies but encouraged us to follow her social media accounts to see her pics.
Stringer and Gifford will split the money.
