BURNSVILLE, Minn. — A woman is in custody after two officers were injured following an 8-hour standoff in Burnsville on Saturday night.
Around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, police said in a press release that officers were called to the 15800 block of Buck Hill Road on a report of shots fired inside a home.
Officials said police were able to determine where the shot came from when they arrived, based on reports. Officers thought the woman firing the shots was still inside the residence and due to a threat to public safety, issued a shelter-in-place order. They also evacuated a few of the nearby homes.
Police said officers tried to contact and negotiate with the woman overnight. Around 4:30 Sunday morning, police said the suspect was taken into custody via K9 apprehension. She was then taken to the hospital to treat her injuries, which police called "non-life-threatening."
Two members of the Tri-City Tactical Team had minor injuries from the incident and also went to the hospital for treatment. Officials have not said how the officers were injured.
Burnsville police said they don't believe there is an ongoing threat to the public and have lifted the shelter-in-place order.
