5 people shot at Burnsville park on Friday night, police search for multiple suspects

Police are asking the public to avoid Red Oak Park as the investigation into this incident continues.

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Five people were injured and multiple suspects are on the run after a shooting at a Burnsville park on Friday night, police said. 

According to a press release, crews from the Burnsville police and fire departments responded to several reports of shots fired from Red Oak Park around 8:15 p.m.

When they arrived, police found multiple people with gunshot wounds. Three people were taken to a local hospital, one person traveled to the hospital on their own and one person was treated at the scene and released, police said. 

As police worked to secure the scene, several suspects fled from the park's wooded area, according to a release. No arrests have been made as of Saturday afternoon.

Officials have not released any other information about the victims or their conditions as of Saturday afternoon. 

Police ask the public to avoid Red Oak Park on Saturday as they continue their investigation.
