City of Minneapolis selling trees for $30, want more planted in yards

The City of Minneapolis wants more trees throughout the community, and now you can buy up to three for $30 each.

MINNEAPOLIS — The City of Minneapolis wants to be greener, and now its selling trees at a low cost to make it easy for residents to plant in their own yards.

The Minneapolis Fruit and Shade Tree Sale started this week, with a variety of tree species selling for $30. Households can order up to three, and they will be available for pickup at Jump Lupient Water Park in mid-October. 

The tree sale is being put on by the Minneapolis Health Department and Tree Trust. There are dozens of trees to choose from, including various apple trees, oaks and evergreens.
