SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Whether it's visiting the exhibits, eating food or going on rides, there are plenty of reasons why people head to the Great Minnesota Get-Together. But one couple had something a little extra special that brought them to the fair Saturday.
"We're celebrating Josh and Emi, they're getting married and this is their wedding reception," said Jess Horst, sister to the groom.
A party before Josh Horst and Emi Kaliski get hitched included an itinerary involving baby animals, foods, rides and a lot of milk.
Of course, there are disadvantages to a fair party.
"Oh boy, I am really feeling the sun," Horst whispered to his soon-to-be wife. "It is cooking the milk. I am becoming cheese."
Josh grew up in Minnesota, and has always loved his home state, rain or shine.
Jess pitched the idea to another brother, but he turned it down. She was happy a sibling of hers finally decided to celebrate their love at the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
"Everyone they love is here," she said.
"Our people, they're all here," said Emi.
The couple will have a small wedding along the North Shore later this week.
