ROBERTS, Wis — The Crayola company is trying to track down former elementary students to reunite them with their childhood artwork — and one of those students, "Kye," who went to St. Croix Elementary School in Roberts, Wisconsin.
The colorful reunion is all part of Crayola's new Campaign for Creativity which hopes to create "a new dialogue about the importance of childhood creativity, and it's turning to area residents for help," according to the news release.
Kye created a piece of artwork in the 90s titled "The Cat" as part of the crayon company's Dream Makers program and the art has been kept at Crayola's Pennsylvania headquarters ever since.

Kye's "The Cat" came with a statement that reads, "This is a cat that likes the Green Bay Packers football team. He is angry because his friends think he stole something, and he didn't. I dreamed him like the character in the children's book by Nancy Carlson."
Crayola is spending big bucks on this search and reunion campaign. It's booking billboard space at New York City's Times Square. The artwork is also on display at Crayola's first children's art gallery in New York.
