BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Officials are investigating after shots were fired in the parking lot of the Dar Al-Farooq Center in Bloomington on Saturday night.

According to police, officers responded to the 8200 block of Park Avenue around 10:40 p.m. for a report of shots fired. As police arrived, they said they saw several vehicles leaving the area.

Officers said they spoke with people inside and outside the building and determined that the gunshots were fired in the Center's parking lot.

There were no injuries reported and police said the suspects fled the scene.

People on scene told police a verbal argument started between several people in a bathroom. Multiple people were asked to leave and escorted outside.

Shortly after, gunshots were heard in the parking lot. Officers said they found shell casings.

On Sunday morning, Dar Al-Farooq posted to social media, saying the people involved were not known to their community. Prayer services are scheduled to continue as normal, and security will be enhanced.

No arrests have been made as of Sunday, police said.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Bloomington Police at (952) 563-4900.
