DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Authorities in northwestern Minnesota are investigating after an 81-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and killed Tuesday.
According to the Detroit Lakes Police Department, the crash happened around noon on the 1500 block of Randolph Road, east of its intersection with Highland Drive. The post said the man, from Detroit Lakes, was pronounced dead shortly after the collision.
Police added the 19-year-old driver is also from Detroit Lakes.
No further details have been released, but the department said information about the driver and victim are expected to be released to the public on Wednesday.
