DULUTH, Minn. -- Duluth has a job for someone who's not afraid of heights - the city's landmark Aerial Lift Bridge needs a new operator.
Bridge supervisor Dave Campbell tells WDIO-TV that bridge job openings don't come up often. He says there are only a few operators, and they usually stick around.
He cautions there's a lot of stress with the job, especially in the summer when lots of people and cars
But it comes with great views. Campbell says there's nothing like watching a freighter come in when Lake Superior is full of fog and it suddenly appears.
The City of Duluth website is accepting applications through Monday before midnight. Campbell says a background in mechanical or electrical maintenance will give applicants a lift.
