EDINA, Minn. — Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire at an Edina apartment building overnight.

In a press release, the Edina Fire Department said firefighters were called to 6328 Barrie Road on multiple reports of an apartment building fire just after 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

When officials arrived, they said the fire was visible from the second and third floors of the building.

KARE 11 Sunrise reporter Cece Gaines, who was on the scene soon after the fire was put out, saw caution tape hanging in some areas around the complex.

"Restoration crews are on scene right now securing the inside of this building so that no one gets too close to the damage," Gaines said Wednesday morning.

According to EFD, seven partner agencies, including the Bloomington and Eden Prairie fire departments and Hennepin Healthcare, responded to the three-alarm fire. Residents were evacuated from the building and are in the process of being relocated.

This is a developing story. KARE 11 will provide more details as new information becomes available.
