MINNEAPOLIS — A man riding a motorized minibike was killed after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening in north Minneapolis.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, the vehicle was traveling north on Washington Avenue North when it struck the minibike, which was traveling westbound on 24th Avenue North at around 5:30 p.m. Police say they believe the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the minibike. The driver of the minibike was pronounced dead at the scene.
The alleged driver of the speeding vehicle was later arrested after police say they fled the scene on foot.
