HUBBARD COUNTY, Minn. — One teen is dead and four other people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Lake Emma Township.
The Hubbard County Sheriff's Office said the three-vehicle collision occurred just before 6:30 p.m. when a 16-year-old driving a pickup crashed into another vehicle — a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox — along County Road 4. A 15-year-old passenger in the pickup was severely injured, and was taken out of the vehicle. A third vehicle was traveling south on County Road 4 when it rear-ended the pickup and hit the 15-year-old passenger. The 15-year-old was transported to St. Joseph's in Park Rapids and then to a Fargo Hospital, where he later died.
Officials say four other people suffered minor injuries, including the 16-year-old Equinox driver and an 18-year-old passenger in the pickup. The driver and a passenger in the third vehicle were also injured.
Officials have not released the name of the 15-year-old victim.
