Finally! A day of snow in Minnesota

Whether you were sliding down a hill in your car or on a sled, Minnesotans did their best to embrace the snow.

MINNEAPOLIS — It's been a long time coming for people who enjoy winter weather activities.

Joey Thiessen learned the hard way to be careful what you wish for.

"I may have cursed us a few days ago I said on social media I miss the snow," he laughed as he cleared the sidewalks in front of his business, Element Pizza in Northeast.

He said he didn't miss all the hard work that comes with the snow. Or commuting in the snow.

"There's a lot of people sliding," he said.

There has been a lot of slipping and sliding all over the Twin Cities. But it's not always a bad thing.

Paul Toenjes, Willem Hoedeman, Michael Miller, John Lelemsis, Levi Larkin and Sam Counts got out of school early. They are all in sixth grade and decided to hit the hill at Valley Place Park.

"We just got out of school, now we’re sledding," said John.

"I like the cold," said Paul Toenjes. "I just like snow!"

"We haven't had snow all winter," said Sam Counts.

"It's kinda sad," said Levi. "But we actually got snow today!"
