BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. - Crews scrambled to put down a hot-burning garage fire in Brooklyn Park Thursday morning.
The BP battalion chief says all occupants were evacuated safely from the home on the 7800 block of Unity Avenue North when crews arrived shortly after 5:30 a.m. The four stall garage appears to be a total loss, and there are visual signs that the flames began to work their way into the home before flames were extinguished.
A fire department spokesperson says the homeowners were just completing a major remodeling job, and were almost done when the fire broke out.
Investigators will be on the scene later Thursday morning trying to determine a cause.
