VIRGINIA, Minn. — An interdepartmental effort is underway to stave off a large building fire in downtown Virginia, Minnesota.
KBJR, a NBC affiliate based out of Duluth, reports the fire erupted on the 300 block of Chestnut Street, where crews have blocked part of the road to thru traffic.
The fire caused the roof of the building, which contains a jewelry store and a vacant apartment, to collapse. No one was hurt.
Authorities say the fire has been "mostly contained." They have not yet indicated the cause of the fire.
This is a developing story. More details will be added as they become available.
