NASHWAUK, Minn. — A Florida woman was killed in northern Minnesota after her truck and trailer rolled away from their parking spot and fatally struck her, according to the Itasca County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies from the sheriff's office initially responded to the scene in Nashwauk for a report of a hit-and-run at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to a release.

Upon arrival, deputies joined the Hibbing Fire Department and Minnesota State Patrol in attempting life-saving measures on the 59-year-old woman, but she died at the scene, according to the statement.

An early report from the sheriff's office suggests the incident wasn't a hit-and-run but the result of the woman's unoccupied truck and camper trailer rolling away from their parking spot and fatally striking her.

Officials have not released the woman's name, pending notification of her next of kin.
