Man arrested in Grant County murder

The Minnesota BCA is assisting in the investigation.

ELBOW LAKE, Minn. — The Midwest Medical Examiner's office has identified a man shot and killed in Grant County on Sunday. 

Stephen Erik Grytdahl, 33, of Elbow Lake was killed on Feb. 18, officials said in a press release. 

The Grant County Sheriff's Office also said a 30-year-old man was arrested and booked at the Wilkin County Jail on a 2nd-degree murder charge. 

Previously, the sheriff's office reported a man called 911 to say he shot his brother around 11:20 p.m. An ambulance arrived, but officials pronounced the 33-year-old victim dead at the scene. 

The Minnesota BCA is assisting in the ongoing investigation. 

Formal charges will be announced in the coming days.
