MINNEAPOLIS — Safety officials at the University of Minnesota have given the all-clear after a reported hazmat incident Thursday morning on campus.
Multiple units were dispatched to the Physics and Nanotech Building at 115 Union Street SE shortly before 4 a.m. Police and fire personnel set up a perimeter around the building to keep people outside the perimeter.
The U of M confirmed the situation on its alert system, then gave an all-clear less than 30 minutes later. KARE 11's Cece Gaines was live on campus for Sunrise and says responders cleared the scene by 5 a.m.
At this hour it is unclear whether the incident will impact classes at the Physics and Nanotech Building Thursday.
