BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — A lockdown was initiated at Hennepin Technical College's Brooklyn Park campus Tuesday afternoon after a suspect in a nearby robbery was found hiding in a restroom on campus.
The Brooklyn Park Police Department responded to the school just after 12:30 p.m. on a report of an armed robbery. Officers learned that the robbery occurred off campus and that the suspect then ran to the school. Officers said they believed the suspect had a handgun, so a lockdown was imposed.
Officials located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. Officers conducted a safety sweep of the school and the lockdown was lifted. Police say no injuries were reported.
