After months of bargaining, the union representing the hundreds of retail workers announced that a tentative agreement was reached Tuesday evening.

The group of around 500 workers previously authorized an Unethical Labor Practice strike, set to begin March 4.

Workers would have walked away from cleaning local big box stores like Target and Lunds & Byerly's.

According to information from the SEIU Local 26, some of the details of the tentative agreement include:

  • A 17% increase in pay, raising wages from $14.50 to $17 over the contract, plus other pay increases for specific jobs
  • Thanksgiving and Christmas as paid holidays for the first time and double pay for working those holidays
  • An improved healthcare plan
  • Increased PTO
  • Expanded worker protections

The tentative agreement now heads to union members for review and a vote is scheduled for later this week.
