PLYMOUTH, Minnesota — May is National Inventors Month, and some local students are getting a hands-on lesson in innovation.
Groves Academy , in St. Louis Park. is a unique school for students with Dyslexia, ADHD and other learning differences. The school is holding its own version of “Shark Tank”. During the May 17th event young inventors will present their innovations to students, teachers and community members.
“Our Shark Tank-inspired event is an opportunity for our students to utilize all the skills they’ve learned this year with executive functioning," said Groves Academy Head of School Kimberly Peeples. "Executive functioning is how we plan and pursue a goal to lead our everyday lives. It’s a real world opportunity to use their creativity to create a project for the greater good.”
Peeples says the projects are also helping students build necessary skills and confidence.
