Bde Maka Ska Pavilion reopens with Pimento Jamaican Kitchen

The new pavilion, complete with outdoor seating for up to 250 people and 3,000 square feet of outdoor covered space, officially reopened on Friday, Oct. 20.

MINNEAPOLIS — Four years after a fire destroyed the lakeside snack bar Lola on the Lake at Bde Maka Ska, a new pedestrian pavilion has finally reopened.

The Bde Maka Ska Pavilion officially reopened on Friday, Oct. 20 with outdoor seating for up to 250 people, 3,000 square feet of outdoor covered space, a small performance stage, new landscaping and trail safety, and year-round restrooms. But the flagship element of the new pavilion is the restaurant and market from Pimento Jamaican Kitchen.

The lakeside restaurant will serve up authentic, award-winning Jamaican cuisine in the north building for as long as demand can sustain it this fall and winter, while the Pimento Market will stay open year-round in the south building.

The team behind Pimento stopped by KARE 11 Saturday to talk more about their new digs and what you'll find alongside the lake.
