Wayzata hosts the Boo Bash and Dash on Saturday, Oct. 26

Along with a Halloween-themed run, those attending can take part in costume and pie-eating contests and a pumpkin derby, among other fun things.

WAYZATA, Minn. — Looking for a bit of pre-Halloween family fun? Wayzata has you covered.

The Boo Bash Dash and Blast returns to downtown on Saturday, Oct. 26, highlighted by 5K and 10K races and a downtown mile where competitors are encouraged to run in costume.

Running events start at 9 a.m. with the 10K, followed by the 5K at 9:15 a.m. and the competitive Lake Street Mile race at 10:30. The final event is the family fun run, which gets off the line at 10:40 a.m.

Costumes are highly recommended for all running events as judges will be on hand looking for the most creative costumes throughout the event.

If running's not your thing, don't sweat it - other awesome events include the pumpkin derby, where contestants build a pumpkin racer and compete for prizes; costume and pie-eating contests; and trick or treating at downtown stores and shops.

Everyone is welcome to take part, and parking is free at either the Promenade or Mill Street parking ramps.
