SHAKOPEE, Minn. — A collection of more than 130 cars will be parked in the infield at Canterbury Park on Sunday. Classic motorcycles, tractors and other farm equipment will also be displayed for this unique competition.
The 10,000 Lakes Concours d'Elegance is a huge contest of historically significant automobiles from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
In French, a "concours d'elegance" means "competition of elegance" — as judges tour the infield, choosing the top representation in each of 22 car classes to receive trophies. Guests can choose their favorite car and enter their People's Choice ballot.
Live entertainment will include a performance by Chanhassen Dinner Theater musicians.
The 10,000 Lakes Concours d'Elegance will also feature food, drink, an art fair and an outdoor cigar deck.
Tickets are $25 per person. Kids 16 and under get in free and there will be activities for the younger set including pony rides and craft projects at the designated play area.
Proceeds from the 10,000 Lakes Concours d'Elegance will benefit the patients and families at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare.
