Twin Cities Film Festival premieres 'For the Living'

This special documentary sheds light on the complex coexistence between the history of dehumanizing events in our world and the empathy that can rewrite the script.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — The producer of a thought-provoking documentary is back in the Twin Cities, ready to premiere her film during the 2024 Twin Cities Film Festival.

Lisa Effress was born and raised in St. Paul and actually worked on the KARE 11 Saturday Show back in the 1990s. She is now the producer of FOR THE LIVING, a documentary that will premiere at West End Cinema in St. Louis Park on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7:15 p.m.

FOR THE LIVING was made to shed light on the complex coexistence of dehumanization - man's inhumanity to man - and the empathy that fights for light in our world. The vehicle for good is Ride For The Living, a multi-day bike ride that bridges milestones in history with the present.

Effress and Co-Director/Writer Tim Roper will hold a Q and A following the showing for those who attend Saturday night's premiere. They visited KARE 11 on Saturday to discuss the documentary and why they consider it a must-see.
