MINNEAPOLIS — The Great Northern Festival is debuting its first-ever ice bar -- a 100-foot-long ice sculpture in downtown Minneapolis.
The Great Northern Ice Bar is on Nicollet Mall between Washington Ave. and 3rd St. and will be open to the public throughout the festival that runs from Jan. 25 to Feb. 4.
It will feature a rotating group of guest bartenders and mixologists from local restaurants, bars and beverage companies.
Beverage tickets will be available on-site, ranging from $15 for a specialty cocktail, to $5 for non-alcoholic beverages.
Of note, Jan. 31 is National Hot Chocolate Day and free samples of hot chocolate will be available that day for everyone in attendance.
Expert bartender Adam Witherspoon, who is curating the ice bar, joined KARE 11 Saturday to tell them all about it.
