MINNETONKA, Minn. — Sunday on Lake Minnetonka, thousands are expected to gather around the shores at the Klondike Dog Derby in celebration of the bold north and the beautiful bond between dogs and people.
KARE 11 is a sponsor of Sunday's event, which starts and finishes in Excelsior. Opening ceremonies are at 9:30 a.m. and the wrap party is at Excelsior Brewing.
Proceeds from the race go to two charities: Can Do Canines and Adopt a Husky Minnesota.
