MINNESOTA, USA — Synchronized skating is the fastest-growing discipline in U.S. Figure Skating, and is on track to be an Olympic sport by 2030.
Minnesota is home to one of the nine top junior synchronized skating teams in the country: the Northernettes.
For the first time in their seven-year history, they're competing as part of Team USA at two international competitions.
Twenty skaters ages 14-18 are heading to Europe to compete with Team USA in the Mozart Cup in Salzburg, Austria (January 19-20), and the Marie Lundmark Trophy in Helsinki, Finland (February 10-11).
Founded by Alana Christie in 2017, the Northernettes organization offers high-level and competitive synchronized skating based in the Twin Cities.
