GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — As temps cool for fall, cozying up to a good movie might be a great way to spend an afternoon or evening.

Deep Focus Review film critic Brian Eggert stopped by KARE 11 Saturday with three movie recommendations to check out.

We Live in Time

Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield star in this unconventional love story. Now playing in theaters.

Bookworm

This film follows the story of a young girl and her father, who try to prove a mythical creature is real. Elijah Wood and Nell Fisher are the stars. "Bookworm" is now screening in theaters and available on some video-on-demand services.

Nickelboys

Two young Black men strike up a friendship as they look to "survive a brutal reformatory sunk deep in the Jim Crow South," according to the film's official logline. Based on the Colson Whitehead novel, this film arrives in theaters Dec. 13, but local audiences can get an early look at the Twin Cities Film Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26.
