Don't miss these Oscar snubs

Brian Eggert, who writes about classic, independent, international, and new releases shared his three picks for snubbed movies.

MINNEAPOLIS — Many people were shocked when the Oscar nominations came out and both Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig were left out of their categories for one of the most acclaimed movies of the year, "Barbie".

Maybe the Academy doesn't always get it right.

Movie critic Brian Eggert joined KARE 11 Saturday to share what other snubbed movies shouldn't be missed.

Here's his list:

1. Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret – Now available to rent on VOD.

2. All Of Us Strangers – Now in theaters.

3. The Taste of Things – Playing in limited release next week (starts Feb. 14 at The Main Cinema in Minneapolis).

Eggert will be hosting "Secret Movie Night" at Imagine Theaters' Willow Creek location. He picks the secret movie. When you buy a ticket, you won't learn what movie you're watching until it starts. It is scheduled for Feb. 14, 7 p.m. $10 tickets.

Eggert is a Tomatometer-approved film critic at deepfocusreview.com
