GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn — With inflation still squeezing America's budgets, saving money on groceries is top of mind.
One way to do that is to buy store brand products, instead of name brand.
Chef Daniel Green has come up with some dinner dishes that are quick, easy, healthy and economical.
RECIPE: Spicy Asian beef burgers
These are packed with flavor and are very easy to make, almost carb-free and most importantly, full of flavor.
If you want to make these into 4 large burgers, then try them on the grill.
(Serves 10-12 small bite-size burgers, or 4 mains size portions)
Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 clove crushed garlic
- 2 scallions Finley chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro
- 2 tablespoons Woodstock sriracha aioli
- 1 tablespoon Woodstock hotter hot sauce
To serve:
- A few slices of jalapeño pepper.
- Hotter hot sauce
- Sriracha aïoli
Place all the ingredients in a food processor. Blend until the mix is chunky, but not puréed.
Heat a non-stick frying pan to a medium-high heat. Make little round balls from the beef mix. Add a little olive oil to the pan and cook each side for a minute. If you're making the larger burgers, they need about two minutes on each side, then turn the heat down to medium-low, and then cook them for another two minutes on each side.
Serve with a thin slice of jalapeño pepper, a little sriracha aioli, and extra hotter-than-hot sauce to dip.
