Spring classes at Minnetonka Center for the Arts

From drawing and painting to mosaics, photography and more -- the classes at Minnetonka Center for the Arts are set for spring.

WAYZATA, Minn. — Miss your art classes in high school or college? Feeling the need to tap into your creativity? Now is your chance.

To support its mission to expand visual arts education for all ages, interests, and abilities, the Minnetonka Center for the Arts has announced its vast and varied spring class lineup. 

Everyone is welcome to visit and take classes at the Arts Center which showcases artwork throughout the facility with all classrooms featuring glass storefront-like windows so guests can watch students in action in each studio and decide if the class might be a fit for them.

The spring class list is open for registration and includes a variety of art forms for every age and skill level from dabbling to mastery. Take a class that meets once a week for 7 or 8 weeks or a workshop that meets once or twice. Some spring classes start as early as Feb. 27.

Here's a list of some of the classes:

  • Painting (watercolor, oil, acrylics, graphite, ink, wax, and animal portraits)
  • Photography
  • Sculpture
  • Weaving
  • Spoon carving
  • Ceramics
  • Pottery 
  • Glass mosaic
  • Jewelry (silver, copper, metal bronze, clay, etc.)
  • Collage
  • Introduction to spoon carving 
  • How to draw faces
