European Christmas Market returns to St. Paul's Union Depot

The event is modeled on the open-air Christkindl markets found in European countries like Austria and Germany.

ST PAUL, Minn. — A holiday tradition is returning to St. Paul starting Thanksgiving weekend.

The European Christmas Market opens at Union Depot on Friday, Nov. 25. The annual event is billed as "the most authentic traditional holiday market of its kind in Minnesota, offering a unique shopping experience, family-friendly entertainment & intercultural activities."

The event is free to attend, inspired by the open-air Christkindl Markets in places like Austria and Germany during the holiday season.

Vendors offer various crafts and European-inspired food to purchase.

The European Christmas Market is open weekends through mid-December:

  • Nov. 25-27
  • Dec. 2-4
  • Dec. 9-11
  • Dec. 16-18

Hours:

  • Friday -  4 p.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Saturday - 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Sunday - 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
