Thrift shopping savings for the perfect Halloween costume

With only two weeks left until October 31st, shopping at a Goodwill keeps you spooky without scaring away all of your money.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. — Spending $100 on a Halloween costume you’ll probably only wear once isn’t for everyone. If you’d like to spend less on your look this year, consider Goodwill stores.

Goodwill costumes range from $5-25 dollars. Plus, this weekend, everything is 35 percent off at every Goodwill store in the metro.

Every store has a clearly indicated Halloween section and all costumes are organized into categories. So even though it’s a thrift store, you’re not doing much digging.

Some of the costumes are ready-to-go, like onesies - the kind that cost upwards of $50 at other retail stores. Alternatively, you can build your own outfit.

In the ‘Beach’ section, for example, you’ll see a variety of floral shirts and straw hats. Again, everything is right there in the same aisle.

Costume “recipe cards” are also available in each section, showing what types of items pair well together for the perfect look.
