ST. CLOUD, Minn — With spirited commentary and a distinctive "bloody beer" in hand, Minnesota Vikings Super Fan Jackie Thompson, known on the internet as Cadillac Jack, has gone viral for her game-day antics.
With more than 23 million likes on her TikTok videos and counting, I asked the iconic Cadillac Jack a few questions (with the help of her daughter Jaycee, who usually records her mom's game day reactions.)
How long have you been a Vikings fan?
JACKIE: Forever, forever, forever… since 6th grade probably? I think Fran Tarkenton was the quarterback… a long time.
Why did you become a Vikings fan?
Because we live in Minnesota, that’s what we do here. You have to be a Vikings fan, well you don’t have to be, but you should be if you're going to live here. Don’t ya think?
What was your reaction after you went viral online? And why do you think you went viral?
I have no idea why that went viral. I act like this every day, I don’t know it must be a virus... I really still don’t think much of it because I don’t really pay attention to all of that.
What was your reaction once you heard the Vikings wanted to invite you to a game to meet JJ?
That was the best day ever, that was so much fun. I was really surprised by the shirt that he was wearing - he gave me one! He's such a nice kid, I knew he was a nice kid before I met him but that just solidified it. But he's just a great guy all the way around so yeah I was super excited.
Thoughts on Jefferson's Hamstring injury? Will he stay a Viking?
Well, first of all I thought It was a joke because he's always joking in the end zone that he pulled a hamstring when he does the griddy but then I realized it wasn’t a joke! It's sad and I think he'll remain a Viking for a while but yeah I wish he was back in. We all wish he was back in but he needs to heal up. But it's football, you're going to get hurt from time to time.
How do you make your bloody beer? And what's your best halftime snack?
Well, half the time I lose my appetite… so I don’t really have any halftime snacks. And its two-thirds beer, one-third tomato juice. First the beer, then juice on the top - Miller light, Campbells tomato juice. That's it.
Final thoughts on the season?
It's not a final yet, I mean I'm still hopeful. One game at a time.
