Abigail Harrison says her goal, for as long as she can remember, is to be the first astronaut to land on Mars.
In 2015, at the age of 18, "Astronaut Abby" founded the nonprofit, The Mars Generation. The organization is aimed at getting kids excited about space exploration and STEM education.
Abby plans to graduate from college with degrees in both Astrobiology and Russian, and plans to take a year off and travel before jumping into grad school.
Abby was also just featured in the Forbes list of 30 under 30 for education.
KARE 11 Sunrise caught up with Abby at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie to talk more about how she's hoping to inspire other girls to take flight in the world of aviation, and how she's using her goal of landing on Mars as fuel for other life experiences.
