Women 'Crushing It' Wednesday: Ellie Donnelly, owner of Cookies By Design'

She quit her job as a teacher to pursue a job that was too sweet to turn down.

PLYMOUTH, Minn. — Not every new venture is a sure fire success.

But for Ellie Donnelly, the opportunity to take over an established business in Plymouth, and pursue her dream, was just too sweet to pass up.

Donnelly quit teaching elementary school and bought the cookie store “Cookies by Design,” which has been in operation for 25 years.

“It was a risk, it was absolutely a huge risk,” recalled Donnelly. “I decided to take that leap and leave my teaching job and hope for the best,” she continued.

Donnelly has a couple goals with this new venture. First, to get the store on the map. Second, Donnelly wants this “Cookies by Design” to become the top performing store in the company. It just happens to be the only one in Minnesota.

You can find Donnelly’s store on 6th Avenue North in Plymouth.
