LAKEVILLE, Minn. — One man is dead and another is in police custody after police said a fight broke out in the parking lot of an Amazon Fulfillment Center early on Saturday morning.

Police said in a press release officers were called to 9800 217th Street West shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday for a report of an altercation.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man in the parking lot with a suspected gunshot wound. Police, firefighters and EMS all tried to save the man but officials said he died on scene.

A second man was apprehended near the victim by an officer, police said, and is in custody as of Saturday. Officials think the fight was just between the two men. Investigators are still trying to determine their relationship, what led up to the shooting and how the two are connected to Amazon.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release more information about the victim, including name and cause of death, in the coming days.
