ST. CLOUD, Minn. — A St. Cloud high school was locked down Wednesday after what police are describing as a "large fight" broke out.
It happened just before noon inside St. Cloud Tech High School. A police spokesperson says the school resource officer responded to a "large physical fight" and due to the number of students involved, numerous St. Cloud Police officers were dispatched.
St. Cloud Tech officials took immediate security steps and put the school in lock down mode. Police say some minor injuries were reported but no major injuries.
Police say regular activities resumed by about 1 p.m., but officers stayed on scene for the rest of the day.
About 20 officers responded, and 19 students have been identified as having been involved, according to police. Police say charges are pending and that none of the students will be allowed to return to the school for the remainder of the school year.
