BLAINE, Minn. — Two men identified as siblings are dead in what police say are connected shooting incidents in the city of Blaine Tuesday morning.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says first responders from multiple departments were initially dispatched on reports of a shooting just before 9 a.m. Aug. 13 near the 200 block of Territorial Road NE. A news release said officers arrived to find a man outside a home with a suspected gunshot wound.

Despite life-saving efforts, authorities said the man - later identified as 62-year-old Timothy James Knox of Blaine - was declared dead at the scene.

Shortly after law enforcement located the first gunshot victim, officers identified a vehicle and person believed to have been involved in the man's death. Law enforcement located the suspect vehicle near the 11900 block of 7th St. NE. and found 61-year-old David John Knox inside, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities have not commented on a potential motive for the incidents, and say their investigation is ongoing.
