MINNEAPOLIS — One of the defendants charged in a deadly shooting outside a Richfield school was acquitted of two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
A Hennepin County jury found Alfredo Rosario Solis not guilty of five charges -- two second-degree murder charges, two second-degree attempted murder charges and one first-degree assault charge. He was, however, found guilty of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
Solis was one of two men charged in connection to February's deadly shooting near the South Education Center in Richfield.
Fifteen-year-old Jahmari Rice was killed in the shooting, and two other students were injured — a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old.
The second suspect — Fernando Valdez-Alvarez — will stand trial in February. Valdez-Alzarez is charged with one count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
