GARRISON, Minn. — A man from Becker is dead after an ATV he was riding in left the roadway and overturned late Saturday.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office says squads were dispatched around 9:40 p.m. to the 26000 block of Linden St. in Garrison on reports of a crash involving a single ATV. When deputies arrived they found that a four-wheeler with two people aboard left the roadway and rolled.
The ATV driver, a 23-year-old woman from Becker, suffered only minor injuries but her passenger, a 52-year-old man from Becker, was fatally injured and pronounced dead on the scene.
At this time it is unclear if charges will be filed in the incident, or if alcohol or drugs were involved.
Also this weekend, a 24-year-old Maple Lake woman was badly injured when the side-by-side UTV she was a passenger in went into the ditch and crashed north of Hillman in Morrison County. Sheriff's officials say the 21-year-old man who was driving the UTV hit a road approach and rolled just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday. His passenger was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital with unknown injuries.
Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
