FERGUS FALLS, Minn. — A man is dead after falling off a pontoon while on Otter Tail Lake Saturday afternoon in Fergus Falls.
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, the man was with family members when he fell off the pontoon around 2:30 p.m. trying to retrieve something while on the northwest side of the lake. People on a nearby pontoon pulled the man from the water, but officials say they weren't able to resuscitate him.
The man was later identified at David Kantrud. Authorities say Kantrud wasn't wearing a lifejacket when he went overboard.
