BECKER COUNTY, Minn. — A man is dead from injuries suffered during a garage fire in northwestern Minnesota Tuesday.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office says first responders were dispatched to a home on the 25000 block of Brandy Lake Road in Detroit Township just after 5 p.m. on reports of a garage on fire. Deputies and fire crews arrived to find the structure fully engulfed and learned that a neighbor and family members had pulled a man out of the burning garage.

An air ambulance flew the victim to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. The man was later identified as 56-year-old Kenneth James Carrabou of Detroit Lakes.

Sheriff's officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
