MINNEAPOLIS — A 34-year-old man is dead after being shot during a traffic altercation in Minneapolis, police said.

Officials said MPD and Minneapolis Park Police officers were called to the Franklin Avenue ramp to West River Parkway just before midnight Friday after a man called 911 to report he had shot another man, claiming he had been attacked.

When they arrived, officers found 34-year-old Randy Burris with life-threatening gunshot wounds and immediately started life-saving care. Burris was then transported to HCMC, where he died an hour later.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man at the scene and booked him into the Hennepin County Jail for probable cause weapons.

Preliminary information indicates the 24-year-old man had driven the wrong way on a wrong-way road, which resulted in a fight.
