MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — A Greenfield couple welcomed a little bundle of joy on New Year's Day! But this wasn't an ordinary birth, this little girl is believed to be the first baby born in the metro in 2023.
Isabelle Alice Koopman was born at exactly 12 a.m. on Jan. 1 at Maple Grove Hospital to parents Ashley and Cameron Koopman. She weighed six pounds, 15 ounces and measured 20 inches at the time of her birth, according to a press release.
Multiple other hospitals in the metro area also announced their first babies of the year born.
A baby girl was born at 1:18 a.m. to April and Ryan Brozeck of East Bethel at Abbott Northwestern and Children’s Minnesota, according to a press release from Allina Health. At M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital, the birth of another baby girl was reported at around 12:15 a.m.
