MINNEAPOLIS — Four people are recovering from injuries after a Metro Transit bus crashed through a brick wall in northeast Minneapolis Tuesday morning.
Metro Transit spokesperson Nikki Muehlhausen confirms the incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of 3rd and Broadway Streets Northeast. Metro Transit police officers were dispatched to the scene on reports of a bus versus car crash. Also responding were Minneapolis police and paramedics.
Pictures from the scene showed the bus and a pile of bricks from the damaged wall, which appears to be about four feet tall.
Muehlhausen says the bus driver and three passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the passenger vehicle involved in the crash declined medical attention on the scene.
Metro Transit says the bus involved is from Route 30 and was being operated under contract with another provider. They are investigating what led to the crash.
