MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Animal Care & Control (MACC) wants to prove the best things in life are, indeed, free this holiday season by offering free pet adoptions beginning this week and extending until the new year.
The shelter announced on Monday that Best Friends Animal Society, a nonprofit animal welfare organization, will sponsor MACC adoptions from Thanksgiving until New Year's Day. Adoption fees can otherwise range from $10-$250, depending on pet.
“This support from Best Friends Animal Society is tremendous,” said MACC Director Caroline Hairfield, in a statement. “This generosity will hopefully result in many animals finding their forever families this Holiday season.”
Anyone interested in pet adoption can visit the shelter, located at 202 17th Ave. N., Monday through Friday. MACC is open from 1-6 p.m., with final daily adoption appointments scheduled no later than 5 p.m.
For more about MACC, including a current list of adoptable pets, visit the shelter's website.
