MINNEAPOLIS — Fire officials say at least 26 people are looking for shelter following an early morning fire at a Minneapolis condominium complex.
Crews were dispatched to the complex at 3600 Penn Ave. North around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday and found heavy black smoke billowing from the structure.
The fire, which escalated to 2-alarms, required some of the building's residents to be rescued by fire ladders. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in about an hour.
Officials report that no one was injured in the fire, but at least 26 people are without a home. The Red Cross was on scene to help people who were displaced find food, clothing and shelter.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation at this time.
