MINNEAPOLIS — A 7-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle while skateboarding near Cleveland Park in Minneapolis.
According to information from police, officers were called to the area around North 33rd Avenue and North Russell Avenue just before 8 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, police said they found a 7-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries. Crews on scene provided aid until EMS arrived to take the boy to Hennepin Healthcare.
Officials have not released the boy's name or condition as of Sunday morning.
Police said preliminary information shows the boy was riding his skateboard when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene before police arrived.
Investigators are working to determine what happened and no arrests have been made.
